The RANCHO FRAMING Top Alcohol Funny Car started the 2004 season with a best run ever for Mark
Woz a 5.617, qualifying in the #2 position . After the rain delayed Winter Nationals resumed on Friday the
Woz ran a career best time in the final round of qualifying running a 5.599 elapsed time @ 249.95 mph. The
ET was good enough to hold on to the top spot until Marc White in the Randy Goodwin Firebird laid down
a spectacular 5.567 which put him in the #1 spot. We won our first round against Jeff Carroll running a 5.68
@ 254.81MPH (a career best MPH) to his 5.77 ET. Our ET in the first round was a little off of our
qualifying pace as we had tried to calm the car down a little. In the 2nd round against Dennis Taylor, Mark
cut a light on the Plumbing Concepts car, but went into severe tire shake and almost crossed the center line
and had to lift twice. The Woz lost the race running a 5.805 to Dennis's 5.678.We would like to
congratulate Dennis who went on to win the race. (His first National Event win) We would like to also thank
the Sponsors and People who help us out and allow us to race. John Williams Owner of Rancho Framing,
Bob & Steve at Direct Transport, John Shafer, Steve Johnson Attorney at Law, NGK Spark Plugs and our
crew Gerry, Eric, Duster, Steve, John , Laura Woz and Sylvia Woz.
