Racing Update: August, 11 2002

Pomona Raceway
Pomona, CA August 9-11 

It was Hot Hot Hot, the weather and track that is, 104 degrees with a track temperature of 
146. Once again we did good Qualifying for one of the toughest Division races ever. The 
field was very tight, with a spread of .06 seconds. 5.89 to 5.95 . Our first run was a 6.008 
@ 240 mph which put us in the # 4 position. The 2nd run  Mark shut down  when the car 
lost traction in 2nd gear. The  final round of qualifying  didn’t start till 8:30 PM and the 
track had cooled down allowing us to get a hold of the track and run a 5.94 @ 242 mph, 
placing us in the # 6 position out of 14 cars. In the first round we were expecting to do 
good against Ed Marx. Our early numbers indicated we were on our best pass of the 
weekend when the transmission broke in 2nd gear and Mark had to lift ending our 
weekend. We were glad to see our sponsor John Williams of Rancho Framing enjoying 
himself at the races along with all the others who came out in the heat to show their 
support for us. Our next race is: Las Vegas Motor Speedway Las Vegas, NV November
