The Rancho Framing Camaro / Top Alcohol Funny Car started the season off with a
great #4 qualifying position, running 5.656 seconds @ 254.62 MPH. Everyone of our
qualifying passes were over 250 MPH. Our first pass was a 5.798/250.46 which ended
up #6 in the first session. We were happy with the MPH, but tire shake in first gear
slowed our ET. In the 2nd session we still had tire shake, but improved to a
5.786/252.33 which left us in the #8 position. In the final qualifying session we ran our
best ever elapsed time and fastest MPH, 5.656 seconds @ 254.62 MPH, which was
also 2nd quickest of the session. In the first round of competition we lost when the
blower belt broke and the car shut off. The early numbers on the run had us running
quicker than our 5.656 in qualifying.
